David Ogden Stiers is gay and proud to be so. He admitted his sexuality truth to the Gossip Boy Blog. In an interview to the blog, he mentioned that he dared not speak about his being gay as he feared that he would lose some of the assignments he had been getting.
He mentioned categorically that Studios may not be totally gay friendly. “A lot of my income has been derived from voicing Disney and family programming. What they might allow in a more known actor, they prefer not having to deal with in minor players” he added.
David Ogden Stiers is an actor, voice actor, and musician, noted for his role in the television sitcom M*A*S*H as Major Charles Emerson Winchester III and the science fiction drama The Dead Zone as Reverend Gene Purdy. A connoisseur of classical music, Stiers has been a guest conductor for over 50 orchestras in North America and maintained a position as associate conductor of the Newport Symphony Orchestra and the Ernest Bloch Music Festival.He has also conducted for the Boston Pops orchestras.
On being asked about a potential partner, 66 year old David gave an elaborate reply “Someone both mature and youthful. Who has a good sense of who they are and where they are heading. They need to appreciate the finer things in life, as over the years I’ve developed certain tastes. The more lusty side of me seeks a man with developed arms, as that has always appealed to me.”
