R&R Music

ImageWelcome back to another edition of the CR R&R column, focusing on some of the hottest J-bands and their connection to the anime world! Last month we delved into the rock stylings of FLOW, and the songs they did for hit shows like Naruto, Eureka Seven and Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion. This month we are jumping into one of my personal favorite bands: Home Made Kazoku!

Home Made Kazoku (HMK) originated when founder DJ U-Ichi was inspired to start deejaying after seeing performing hip hop dance crews, the urban-American film classic “Juice” and watching DJs tear it up on the ones and twos at local clubs. Needing MCs to complement his music, Micro, who was raised in Kentucky, and Kuro, who was born in Chicago, would join onboard rounding out what will become HMK. Although members would change and music styles would evolve over time, these three would continue on their goal to drop a chart-topping #1 hit.
