Legendary country singer George Hamilton IV and the Captain's Crew's annual spring tour in North Carolina will include two dates on the Outer Banks.
The concerts will feature a wide selection of country gospel favorites along with some of Hamilton's country and pop hits. The programs are scheduled for Wednesday April 15 at Bethany United Methodist Church at 7 p.m. and Thursday, April 16, at The Outer Banks Music Showcase in Kitty Hawk at 7:30 p.m.
Hamilton has celebrated more than 50 years in the music industry. He has been a member of the Grand Ole Opry for more than 45 years and has had hit records on the pop, country and gospel charts. His country career was defined when he hit number one with "Abilene." Other major hits include "Early Morning Rain," "Break My Mind," and the pop hit, "A Rose and A Baby Ruth."
He may be best known for some of his performances at Dr. Billy Graham's Crusades. Although he still plays country concerts, most recently, he has focused more and more of his time on country gospel music and has had several number one country gospel songs.
